Coze Up With Candles
Sorry for the brief break in blogging - I’ve been sidetracked working on a project for the BF. It’s top secret so I can’t share at the moment, but will keep y’all posted!
The second it turn fall and I’m not running to the nearest Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte or heading to the mall to find boots that fit my giant calves, I am transforming the apartment into a smell-tastic cozyland.
Smells can bring to mind memories and I’ve been lucky to have good memories around the holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years - all fun and festive times. November and December also house all of my family’s birthdays minus the BF (he’s a spring baby). It’s a crazy time of year and with the weather cooling down, we’re often chilling out in our home more than usual. Might as well make the home smell like happiness!
Candles are my go-to for making the apartment smell cozy. I tend to go to Target for my candles because they have lot of seasonal scents and they are usually pretty affordable. Sometimes I’ll pick up a random candle at a boutique shop or grocery store (I get desperate, y’all).
Recently, I made a pit stop at Kohl’s and there I found scented wax. They were having a sale so I decided to try some out. Basically, you buy a nightlight that holds wax at the top and you can choose what scents to put in. I bought 3: Autumn Harvest, Falling Leaves, and Cinnamon Spice Cookie. Autumn Harvest (green) is a bit perfume-y for my taste but Falling Leaves is amazing! I haven’t tried the Cinnamon scent yet...I’m a bit worried it’ll smell like cookies but then I’ll realize there are none to eat…Also, I like that the scented wax option doesn’t require a flame - that’s a plus for us renters out there.
If you’re looking to make your home smell like an autumn paradise, here are some words to look out for searching for your festive scent:
Autumn or Fall
Cinnamon (unless you’re not a fan) or Vanilla
Pumpkin or Apple or Pie or Cookie
Cedar, Woods, or Fire
No snow? Or wreath? Or candy cane? I’ll probably do a winter version of this blog, that’s why ;) Until next time!
